Postmix for setting fence posts
Setting timber, concrete or compatible metal posts into the ground? Use our Wern-Wood 20kg Rapid-Set Postmix. The current bag states a setting time of around 5–10 minutes, with no separate concrete batch to mix.
For a standard 75mm or 100mm timber fence post, we normally allow around 1.5–2 bags per post. Concrete posts often use around 2 bags; gate posts normally need more.

Fence post supports

Fencing staples and gate hinges
For fencing wire, use galvanised fencing staples. For suitable timber gates, browse straight hook & band hinges in black or galvanised finishes.
Choosing the right fence fixing
- Fence panels: use suitable panel clips for the panel-to-post connection.
- Surface-mounted posts: choose bolt-down post supports where the base and fixing method are suitable.
- Driven post supports: choose drive-in spikes where ground conditions and the installation allow.
- Fencing wire: use galvanised staples sized for the job.
- Gates: choose hinges around the gate size, weight and installation.
- Concreted posts: use the appropriate quantity of Postmix for the post and hole dimensions.
Postmix, Postcrete and post concrete
