Choosing a structural timber screw

This collection is for longer, larger-diameter timber screws used for substantial timber-to-timber connections. The current range covers 6.3mm, 6.7mm and 7mm screws from 65mm to 250mm, with hex-drive and green-coated options.

Performance Hex Drive Structural Timber Screws

Performance Hex Drive Structural Timber Screws are 6.7mm screws available in 65mm, 100mm, 150mm and 200mm lengths. They suit larger timber connections in decking subframes, fencing frames, pergolas, landscaping timber and similar projects, with selected sizes available individually as well as in boxes of 50.

Green Timber Fixing Screws

Green Timber Fixing Screws are 6.3mm exterior-coated screws with an 8mm hex-flange head. They are supplied in bags of 20 and cover 65mm, 87mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm and 250mm lengths, giving this range the longest stocked option in the collection.

Green Timberdrive Screws

Green Timberdrive Screws are a separate 7 x 75mm option supplied in packs of 25 for sleeper and timber fixing where a shorter fixing suits the joint.

Timber screws, structural screws and long wood screws

These terms overlap in search because they all describe screws used for timber fixing, but the job still determines the right range. This collection is focused on longer and more substantial timber-to-timber connections. For general joinery and everyday timber fixing, use our Wood Screws. For fixing deck boards to the timber subframe, use Decking Screws; the structural timber screws here are better suited to the supporting framework itself.

Choosing the screw length

Choose a length that passes through the first timber and gives suitable purchase in the timber behind without protruding where it is not wanted. The stocked range runs from 65mm to 250mm, with the exact lengths and pack options shown on each product page.
