Planed timber, PSE and PAR

Planed timber is the broad buying term for smooth-finished timber sections used in joinery and interior woodworking. You may also see this type of timber described or searched for as PSE (Planed Square Edge) or PAR (Planed All Round). Our range is planed on all four sides for interior joinery and general woodworking.

What is planed timber used for?

Planed timber is a practical choice for shelving, interior joinery, boxing-in, trims, furniture and general DIY or carpentry work where a smoother finished section is preferred to sawn timber.

For stud walls, partition walls or structural framing, choose our CLS Timber – Planed Structural Softwood instead. That keeps structural and studwork requirements separate from this general joinery range.

Choosing your planed timber size

See the section sizes and lengths on our Planed Timber – PSE / PAR product, then select the combination required for your project. If an exact finished dimension is critical to your project, contact us before ordering.
