About BS 1088 marine plywood
BS 1088 is the current British Standard for marine plywood. It sets requirements for marine-plywood manufacture, including matters relating to bond durability and resistance to biological deterioration. It does not make an unfinished sheet a complete waterproof system or establish whether a particular finished project is structurally suitable.
For exposed or moisture-prone work, the finished design, cut edges, faces, holes and other penetrations still need appropriate protection for the application.

Is marine plywood the right sheet for the job?
Marine plywood is useful where the marine-plywood specification is justified, but it is not automatically the best-value board for every project. For general construction or dry internal work, compare the rest of our plywood sheets, including structural hardwood plywood and general purpose hardwood plywood.
