Build or repair a picket fence

This collection contains individual timber pickets — also called fence pales or picket slats — rather than pre-assembled picket fence panels. Use the pressure-treated pales with smooth picket rails and suitable posts to build a new timber picket fence to your chosen spacing, or replace individual damaged pales in an existing fence.

Choose your picket fence pales

Round-top pickets give a softer traditional finish. Choose 90 × 18mm Round-Top Picket Fence Pales or the narrower 75 × 18mm Round-Top Picket Fence Pales.

Pointed pickets give the classic pointed picket-fence profile. Shop 75 × 18mm Pointed Picket Fence Pales.

Picket fence sizes

The active pale range covers 600mm (2ft), 900mm (3ft), 1200mm (4ft) and 1800mm (6ft) lengths depending on profile and width. Choose the pale length to suit the finished fence height and installation.

Complete the picket fence

Pair the pales with smooth picket fence rails and suitable rounded-top timber fence posts. For setting the posts, add Postmix, and for fixing the timber components browse Performance Exterior Screws.
