Description
Bolt-down fence post supports are metal fence shoes for fixing compatible timber posts onto an existing solid concrete or masonry base. Choose the shoe to match the actual post size: 75 × 75mm / 3×3, 100 × 100mm / 4×4 or 150 × 150mm / 6×6.
When should I use a bolt-down fence post shoe?
Use a bolt-down support where the post needs to stand on suitable hardstanding rather than being buried in soil. Typical locations include concrete yards, patios, slabs and other bases suitable for mechanical anchoring.
Bolt-down shoe or drive-in post spike?
Use a bolt-down shoe on a suitable solid base. For compatible lighter fencing in firm soil, a drive-in post spike is the alternative support type. For permanent ground-set posts, choose an appropriate post and Postmix.
Which size do I need?
- 75 × 75mm / 3×3 — for compatible 75mm timber posts.
- 100 × 100mm / 4×4 — for compatible 100mm timber posts.
- 150 × 150mm / 6×6 — for compatible 150mm timber posts.
Check the actual post dimensions and the condition of the base before ordering. The finished installation depends on the substrate, anchors, post, fence height, exposure and loads applied.
