Description
DuraPost Classic 2.7m is the longer galvanised steel / metal fence post in the DuraPost range. Choose it when you need extra post length beyond the standard 2.4m Classic.
For most standard 6ft garden fences, start with the 2.4m Classic. The 2.7m version uses the same steel post profile but gives additional length for deeper setting, changing ground levels, taller layouts or installations where the specification calls for it.
It works with DuraPost VISTA composite fencing, timber panels, featheredge and closeboard fencing. This length is stocked in Anthracite Grey and Black.
When should I choose 2.7m?
- Where the installation design requires more post below ground than a 2.4m post provides
- For taller fencing arrangements, subject to planning rules and site suitability
- Where ground levels vary and additional post length is helpful
- For exposed or non-standard installations where the chosen specification calls for the longer post
Do not choose a post length from fence height alone. Ground conditions, wind exposure, foundation design and the fencing system all affect suitability.

What else will I need?
A complete installation may also require 20kg rapid-set Postmix, suitable fixings, post caps, cover strips, VISTA aluminium profiles and VISTA board packs. For a normal end, continue with a Classic post and fit the Classic Post End Infill. Use the DuraPost Corner Post when the fence changes direction or changes into a different application.

Installation guidance
Set out the full fence line and confirm bay widths before digging. Keep posts plumb, level and correctly aligned while the foundation material cures. Follow the current DuraPost installation instructions and use fixings suitable for the selected fencing system.
For exposed sites, unusual ground conditions, retaining applications, non-standard heights or structurally demanding installations, obtain appropriate site-specific advice before installation.
