Description
The longer DuraPost Classic intermediate post for installations requiring additional post length below ground. This 2.7m post uses the same slim H-shaped DuraPost Classic profile as the 2.4m version, with additional length for projects where the intended finished height, ground conditions or installation design calls for a deeper setting.
Manufactured from pre-galvanised cold-rolled steel and finished in Anthracite Grey or Black, it can be used with DuraPost VISTA composite fencing, timber panels, featheredge and closeboard fencing.
When should I choose 2.7m?
- Where the installation design requires more post below ground than a 2.4m post provides
- For taller fencing arrangements, subject to planning rules and site suitability
- Where ground levels vary and additional post length is helpful
- For exposed or non-standard installations where the chosen specification calls for the longer post
Do not choose a post length from fence height alone. Ground conditions, wind exposure, foundation design and the fencing system all affect suitability.

What else will I need?
A complete installation may also require Postmix, suitable self-drilling fixings, post caps, cover strips, VISTA aluminium infills and VISTA board packs. Use a dedicated gate/end/corner post where the fence terminates, changes direction or supports a gate.

Installation guidance
Set out the full fence line and confirm bay widths before digging. Keep posts plumb, level and correctly aligned while the foundation material cures. Follow the current DuraPost installation instructions and use fixings suitable for the selected fencing system.
For exposed sites, unusual ground conditions, retaining applications, non-standard heights or structurally demanding installations, obtain appropriate site-specific advice before installation.
Guarantee
DuraPost steel products may qualify for a manufacturer guarantee of up to 25 years, depending on the finish, product and installation. Registration and supporting evidence may be required under Birkdale’s current guarantee terms.
