Description
A lightweight, long-lasting steel alternative to timber and concrete fence posts. The 2.4m DuraPost Classic is the main intermediate post for standard domestic fencing and can be used with DuraPost VISTA composite boards, conventional timber fence panels, featheredge and closeboard fencing.
Its slim H-shaped profile is manufactured from pre-galvanised cold-rolled steel. Pre-drilled fixing holes make it straightforward to secure panels, rails and compatible accessories without unnecessarily damaging the protective galvanised finish.
Choose your finish
- Galvanised: the practical silver finish for timber fencing and cost-conscious installations.
- Anthracite Grey: powder-coated finish for modern composite or timber fencing.
- Black: powder-coated finish that creates a strong frame around VISTA and timber fencing.

What else will I need?
The exact components depend on your fence design. A typical installation may also require Postmix, suitable self-drilling fixings, post caps, cover strips, VISTA aluminium infills and VISTA board packs. Use a dedicated gate/end/corner post where the fence terminates, changes direction or supports a gate.

Installation guidance
Set out the complete fence line before digging. Post spacing must suit the actual panel, board or rail system being installed. Keep posts plumb and correctly aligned while the foundation material cures. Follow the current DuraPost installation instructions and use fixings suitable for the selected fencing system.
For exposed sites, unusual ground conditions, retaining applications, non-standard heights or other structurally demanding installations, obtain appropriate site-specific advice before installation.
Guarantee
DuraPost steel products may qualify for a manufacturer guarantee of up to 25 years, depending on the finish, product and installation. Registration and supporting evidence may be required under Birkdale’s current guarantee terms.
