Description
The DuraPost Classic 2.4m is a galvanised steel fence post for timber fencing and DuraPost VISTA composite fencing. It is the main intermediate post used through a straight fence run and is available in Galvanised, Anthracite Grey and Black finishes.
Its slim H-shaped profile is manufactured from pre-galvanised cold-rolled steel. Pre-drilled fixing holes make it straightforward to secure compatible panels, rails and DuraPost components without unnecessarily damaging the protective galvanised finish.
Can DuraPost steel fence posts be used with timber fencing?
Yes. DuraPost Classic steel posts can be used with standard timber fence panels, featheredge and closeboard fencing as well as compatible timber rails. This makes them a metal fence post option for customers who want to keep a traditional timber fence rather than change to composite boards.
Can DuraPost posts be used with composite fencing?
Yes. The Classic post is also the intermediate post used with DuraPost VISTA composite fencing. VISTA boards are fitted between matching aluminium profiles to create the finished fence bays.

What else will I need?
The exact components depend on the fence design. A VISTA installation may also require composite board packs, aluminium infill profiles, self-drilling screws, post infills, U-channels, caps and Postmix. Timber fencing requires the fixings and rails or panels appropriate to the chosen design.
How many DuraPost posts do I need?

Installation guidance
Set out the complete fence line before digging. Post spacing must suit the actual panel, board or rail system being installed. Keep posts plumb and correctly aligned while the foundation material cures and follow the current DuraPost installation instructions.
For exposed sites, unusual ground conditions, retaining applications, non-standard heights or other structurally demanding installations, obtain appropriate site-specific advice before installation.

DuraPost steel products may qualify for a manufacturer guarantee of up to 25 years, depending on the finish, product and installation. Registration and supporting evidence may be required under Birkdale’s current guarantee terms.
