Wood preserver or weatherproof finish?
Choose the product for the protection required. A water-repellent or coloured finish should not be assumed to provide preservative treatment against rot or insects. Check the individual product's stated claims as well as its intended surface, finish and preparation requirements.
Treating fences, sheds and garden timber
For fences and sheds, choose the treatment around the existing surface and the finish you want. Creocote gives suitable rough-sawn exterior timber a traditional dark-brown appearance. Ronseal and Cuprinol options in this collection provide coloured fence and shed finishes. Always follow the individual product instructions for preparation, coverage, drying time and re-coating.
