Description

Quick answer: Treated featheredge fence panels are fully framed closeboard-style panels for strong garden boundary fencing, privacy screening and replacement fence bays. They give the featheredge look without building each bay board by board.

Best used for

  • Garden boundary fencing
  • Privacy screening between properties
  • Replacing old or damaged closeboard panels
  • Side and rear garden fence runs
  • Jobs where a ready-made panel is easier than loose boards

Panel options

These panels are supplied in standard 6ft wide sections with height options selected from the product variants. Choose the panel height around your existing posts, gravel boards and finished fence height.

Panel size Best for
6ft × 4ft Lower garden boundaries, front gardens, sheltered sections and replacement bays.
6ft × 5ft Medium-height privacy and general garden fencing.
6ft × 6ft Taller garden privacy and standard rear boundary fencing.

Featheredge panels or loose featheredge boards?

Choose panels when you want a quicker replacement or a ready-made bay. Choose loose featheredge boards, posts and rails when building a continuous closeboard fence from scratch or where the run needs more flexibility.

Things to check before ordering

  • Post type: Check whether your existing posts suit fence panels or whether you need new timber or concrete posts.
  • Bay width: Standard panels are designed for 6ft bays. Measure between posts before ordering.
  • Finished height: Include gravel board height if used.
  • Exposure: Taller panels in exposed locations need properly set posts and good support.
  • Ground clearance: Avoid prolonged direct contact with the ground where possible.

Complete the job

For posts, postmix and gravel boards, view the Featheredge Boards collection. If you are building the fence from loose timber instead, use the Featheredge Fence Calculator.
