The DuraPost Classic Bolt Down Support allows a compatible DuraPost Classic steel post to be fixed onto a suitable concrete or structural base where digging a normal post hole is not appropriate.
Who should use it?
It is useful for patios, concrete slabs, retaining structures and other sound bases where the fence line needs to sit above an existing hard surface.
When is bolt-down fixing appropriate?
Use it only where the base is structurally capable of taking the fence loads and the chosen concrete or masonry anchors can be installed with adequate edge distances and embedment. A thin paving slab or loose block is not equivalent to a structural concrete base.
What does the support do?
The 150mm galvanised support receives the Classic post and transfers the post load into the base plate and anchors below. The post is then used with the normal compatible panel/rail system above.
What else do I need?
- a compatible DuraPost Classic post
- anchors appropriate to the concrete/base material
- the selected fence panel, rails or composite system
- a colour-matched bolt-down cover plate if the galvanised base remains visible
Do I use the normal full-length buried post?
The post and support arrangement should follow the DuraPost bolt-down specification rather than simply bolting down a post selected for burial. Check the finished fence height and support detail before ordering.
Why choose the DuraPost bolt-down system?
Where a fence has to rise from an existing concrete base, this keeps the installation visually consistent with the rest of the DuraPost system instead of introducing a bulky generic post shoe. Pair the galvanised support with a colour-matched cover plate and the structural fixing virtually disappears into the finished fence.
