Description
Quick answer: Square treated agricultural fence posts are UC4 pressure treated sawn posts for rural, stock and post-and-rail fencing. The square section gives flat fixing faces, making them practical for rails, bracing and heavier timber fencing layouts.
Best used for
- Agricultural and rural fencing
- Post-and-rail fencing
- Paddock and boundary fencing
- Bracing positions and stronger timber fence layouts
Which size should you choose?
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| 150 x 75mm x 2.1m - Weathered Top | Agricultural fence lines where a sloped top finish is preferred. |
| 150 x 75mm x 2.4m - Square Top | Taller or deeper-set posts where a flat top is suitable. |
| 150 x 100mm x 2.4m - Square Top | Heavier-duty positions where a wider section gives more fixing strength. |
Flat or weathered top?
Weathered tops help shed water away from the end grain. Square tops give a clean, flat structural finish and can be preferred where alignment or appearance matters.
Things to check before ordering
- Ground contact: These posts are UC4 treated for use in the ground.
- Fence height: Choose a post length that gives enough depth below ground for the finished fence height.
- Fixing face: Square posts are useful where rails, braces or fittings need a flat fixing surface.
- High-tension fencing: Wire fencing ends and corners may still need dedicated strainer posts and bracing.
