Description
Square treated agricultural fence posts provide a strong and reliable solution for rural and stock fencing installations. Manufactured from sawn softwood and pressure treated to UC4 specification for ground contact, these posts are designed for long-term performance in exposed agricultural environments.
Unlike machined round or peeled stakes, square-section posts offer flat faces for improved fixing security and bracing, making them suitable for heavier fencing layouts and structural positions within agricultural systems.
Flat vs Weathered Top
Weathered tops are angled to help shed water away from the end grain, reducing moisture ingress over time. Square (flat) tops provide a clean structural finish and are commonly used where alignment or appearance is preferred.
Typical Applications
- Agricultural and rural fencing
- Livestock and paddock enclosures
- Boundary fencing and land division
- Intermediate and bracing positions within stock fencing systems
- Heavy-duty timber fencing installations
Installation Guidance
Posts should be installed to a suitable depth based on fence height and ground conditions, typically allowing 600mm or more below ground level for stability. In exposed or high-wind locations, closer post spacing may improve overall fence strength.
For end, corner and load-bearing positions requiring additional structural strength, use larger diameter agricultural strainer posts. Browse related products in our Agricultural Fencing collection.
