DuraPost VISTA is a premium composite fencing system for contemporary gardens, landscaped spaces and design-led residential projects. What are these boards?
Each pack contains 4 composite boards approximately 1.82m long. The boards stack horizontally inside a VISTA aluminium frame fitted between DuraPost Classic steel posts.
A full approximately 6ft × 6ft bay requires 3 packs / 12 boards. These boards are therefore one component of the VISTA system, not a complete fence panel on their own.

What do I need for one full VISTA bay?
- 3 packs of VISTA boards — 12 boards total
- 1 × VISTA aluminium infill set
- 1 × bag of 16 VISTA 4 × 28mm self-drilling screws
- DuraPost Classic posts sized for the finished fence and site conditions
Adjoining bays share posts. Plan the entire run before ordering rather than treating each bay as an isolated panel.
How does the system go together?
- Install and align the DuraPost Classic posts.
- Fit the bottom aluminium profile.
- Fit the two side profiles into the post arrangement.
- Stack the VISTA boards horizontally between them.
- Fix the system using the specified colour-matched 4 × 28mm screws, following the DuraPost fixing pattern.
- Fit the top aluminium profile to complete the frame.
Important fitting details
- Allow 2.5mm each side for composite expansion.
- Birkdale states a board-height tolerance of up to -2mm, so the side profiles may need trimming to achieve a flush finished top.
- If no post hole aligns with the fixing position, pre-drill with a 5mm metal bit.
- Do not use an impact driver.
Available board colours
Graphite, Oyster, Teak, Slate, Ash and Cedar. The board colour does not have to match the aluminium framing: VISTA infills are available in Anthracite Grey, Olive Grey, Sepia Brown and Black, so the fence can be designed with either a coordinated or contrasting frame.
Can the boards be cut?
Yes. For a narrower final bay, measure the actual opening after the posts are positioned, maintain the required expansion allowance, and cut the boards and aluminium profiles to suit.
