Description
This is the 3mm-wall Heavy Duty DuraPost Gate Post for hanging or slamming more demanding gates. It uses a 75 × 75mm square steel profile and is supplied at 2.45m long.
Use this where the gate specification calls for the Heavy Duty post rather than the 2mm Light Duty Gate, End & Corner Post.
Heavy Duty vs Light Duty DuraPost gate posts
The Heavy Duty post uses a 3mm steel wall. Our Light Duty Gate, End & Corner Post uses a 2mm wall and Birkdale rates that lighter post for suitable gates up to 30kg. Choose the post from the finished gate specification rather than price alone.
Installation
Set out the gate opening before installing the posts and allow for the complete gate, hinges, latch and required clearance. Keep the post plumb while the foundation cures and follow the current DuraPost gate instructions for the chosen hardware.
