Description
The DuraPost 150mm Gate Stop Set gives a timber gate a positive closing point within a DuraPost layout. It prevents the gate from swinging past its intended closed position and creates a more controlled latch-side detail.
Who needs it?
Use the stop where a timber gate is hung within a DuraPost fence and requires a dedicated stop on the closing side. It is particularly useful where the gate would otherwise close directly against a steel post or continue through the opening.
Where does it fit?
The stop is fitted at the latch/closing post in the position needed to meet the edge or face of the timber gate when fully closed. Set the gate, hinge clearance and latch position first, then locate the stop to suit the actual gate.
What else does a timber-gate installation need?
- suitable DuraPost gate posts
- gate hinges sized for the timber gate
- latch/lock hardware
- this gate stop on the closing side where required
- U-Channels where adjacent fence bays connect to the gate posts
Choose the matching finish
The stop is available in coordinated DuraPost colours so the latch-side detail can match the gate post and surrounding fence rather than introducing an unrelated galvanised fitting.
This stop is specifically listed by Birkdale for wooden gates; it is separate from the dedicated hardware used with the DuraPost aluminium pedestrian gate.
Why use the dedicated DuraPost gate stop?
It keeps the closing detail within the same colour-matched system rather than finishing a premium gate opening with a generic bracket. That matters most on visible entrances where the hardware is part of the finished garden design.
