Description
Machined round fence posts are a durable and professional solution for agricultural and stock fencing installations. Pressure treated to UC4 specification for ground contact use, these posts are designed for long-term exterior performance in rural and exposed environments.
Each post is pointed for driving, making them suitable for direct installation using appropriate post-driving equipment. When installed correctly with suitable tools to prevent splitting, they provide reliable intermediate support within agricultural fencing systems.
Commonly used for livestock fencing, paddocks, field boundaries and rural land divisions, round fence posts offer consistent sizing and a clean machined finish, helping create straighter fencing lines compared to rough-sawn alternatives.
For end, corner and direction-change positions requiring greater structural strength, use larger diameter creosote strainer posts with appropriate bracing.
Available Sizes
- 3 Inch (75mm) diameter × 1.65m length
- 4 Inch (100mm) diameter × 1.80m length
Commonly referred to as 3 inch and 4 inch round fence posts, these sizes are suitable as intermediate agricultural fencing posts within stock netting, barbed wire, plain wire and post-and-wire systems.
Typical Applications
- Agricultural and stock fencing
- Livestock enclosures
- Paddocks and equestrian fencing
- Field and rural boundary fencing
- Post-and-wire installations
Installation & Spacing Guidance
Round fence posts are typically installed at 1.8m–2.5m centres, depending on terrain, livestock type and fencing system.
- Sheep fencing: commonly 1.8m–2.0m centres
- Cattle fencing: typically 2.0m–2.5m centres
- Exposed or uneven ground: closer spacing recommended
Posts are normally driven directly into the ground or installed into pre-augered holes. End and corner positions should use larger diameter strainer posts with appropriate bracing systems.
