Description

This three-rail set is the structural frame for one full-height DuraPost VENTO hit-and-miss composite fence bay. The rails position the 16 vertical composite slats and create the alternating hit-and-miss layout that defines VENTO.

What is in the pack?

Each full-height pack contains 3 × 1829mm rails:

  • 1 bottom rail
  • 1 middle rail
  • 1 top rail

Who needs this rail set?

One three-rail pack is required for each standard full-height VENTO bay. The rails are a core structural part of the VENTO system rather than optional trim.

What else do I need for one bay?

  • 1 × VENTO rail pack — this product
  • 2 packs / 16 VENTO composite slats
  • DuraPost posts for the complete run
  • 6 × M4 × 30mm square-drive self-drilling screws for the standard Birkdale assembly

How are the three rails used?

  1. The bottom rail is used to gauge the post spacing and forms the base of the panel.
  2. The middle rail initially rests lower in the post reveals while the slats are inserted.
  3. The top rail is positioned and fixed using the outer slats to establish the correct height.
  4. Once all slats are in place, the middle rail is raised to the central position and fixed at both ends.

What if the fence is only 900mm high?

Birkdale specifies a two-rail arrangement for VENTO fencing at 900mm or lower because a middle rail is not required. This listing is the three-rail pack for the full-height system.

Choose the frame colour as part of the design

The rail finish can be coordinated with the DuraPost posts or contrasted against the composite slat colour. Available finishes include Olive Grey, Sepia Brown, Anthracite Grey and Black.

Installation manual

Use the official DuraPost VENTO technical sheet and installation guide.

Why use the dedicated VENTO rails?

The hit-and-miss effect depends on every slat being held at the right depth and spacing. The three-rail system gives VENTO its rhythm and keeps the finished panel feeling engineered rather than improvised.
