Description
Sherardised annular ring nails for exterior timber, fencing and other applications where improved withdrawal resistance is useful. The ringed shank bites into the timber more strongly than a comparable smooth nail, while the sherardised finish provides corrosion protection for exterior work.
Which size do I need?
40mm × 2.65mm – for thinner timber components and fencing work where a 65mm nail would be unnecessarily long. Available in 500g, 1kg and 2.5kg packs.
65mm × 3.35mm – a longer, heavier annular nail supplied in a 2.5kg pack. These dimensions match the size commonly referenced in current NFRC roofing-batten guidance, but the roof's fixing calculation, exposure and corrosion requirements still decide the final fixing specification.
What does annular ring mean?
Raised rings around the shank increase resistance to withdrawal from timber compared with a similar smooth-shank nail.
What does sherardised mean?
Sherardising is a zinc-based corrosion-resistant finish for steel fixings. Suitability still depends on the exposure and project specification.
