47mm No-Leg Mini Timber-to-Timber Joist Hanger
Compact 47mm timber-to-timber hanger for light-duty framing jobs such as trimming around ceiling hatches and other small timber openings. Unlike a standard joist hanger, the No-Leg Mini does not have the long wrap-over straps used on larger timber-to-timber hangers, making it a much more compact fixing for lighter applications.
What is a timber-to-timber joist hanger?
A timber-to-timber hanger is a metal bracket used to support the end of one piece of timber where it meets another.
Rather than relying solely on nails or screws driven through the end of the timber, the hanger forms a metal seat around the supported timber and transfers the connection back into the supporting timber.
What does “No-Leg Mini” mean?
Standard timber-to-timber joist hangers have longer strap sections or legs which extend up the supporting timber and can be wrapped over where required.
This No-Leg Mini version is deliberately much smaller.
It is intended for light-duty timber connections where a full-size joist hanger would be unnecessary, particularly small framed openings and trimming work.

What does the 47mm size mean?
This is the 47mm size in Samac's No-Leg Mini hanger range.
Before ordering, check the actual dimensions of the timber you intend to support and make sure the hanger size is appropriate. Timber sold by its nominal size can have different finished dimensions depending on whether it is sawn or machined.
The hanger is suitable for timber up to 100mm deep.
Why choose this instead of a standard joist hanger?
Choose the No-Leg Mini when you're making a small, light-duty timber connection and don't need the long legs of a conventional timber-to-timber hanger.
A standard joist hanger is the more appropriate type where the connection forms part of a larger floor, roof or other load-bearing structure and the hanger has been specified for that job.
This Mini Hanger should not automatically be substituted for a structural joist hanger simply because the timber fits inside it.
