8x4 plywood sheets and common thicknesses
Many full-size boards in this range are 2440 × 1220mm (8 × 4ft). Across the different plywood types, available thicknesses include 3.6mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm and 25mm. Availability depends on the plywood type, so choose the product first and then select the thickness on that product page.
9mm, 12mm and 18mm plywood
Thickness alone does not define suitability. A 12mm or 18mm sheet may be structural, marine, birch, shuttering or general-purpose depending on the product specification. Match the plywood type and stated performance to the project before choosing thickness.
Structural and moisture requirements
Do not assume every plywood sheet is structural or suitable for wet or exterior exposure. Check the stated standards and product description for the specific board. Our structural hardwood plywood product states structural suitability from 9mm upwards; its 3.6mm and 5.5mm options should be treated as general-purpose sheets unless your project specification confirms otherwise.
